MATURATION
The initial decades of maturation in American oak hogsheads reflects a timely occupation in cask, much like the devil’s own alleged escape. 
What followed was an unusual journey into Essencia® barriques, a rare ‘Rose Oak’ dating back to the 1830s, to bring an exceptionally deep, powerful and distinctive character to the fore.
TASTING NOTES
Rushing quickly from the glass, the scent of incense, beeswax and a struck match transport the senses to Bowmore’s round church. The unmistakable notes of Bowmore’s subtle peat smoke, brine and oak linger on the finish, tempting the soul.
